SaveMyGPT Security & Privacy Notice

1. No Cloud Storage

SaveMyGPT is a 100% local Chrome extension. Every conversation you capture stays in your browser via chrome.storage.local. We never upload or transmit your chats, prompt library selections, or settings to external servers.

2. No External Network Calls

The extension does not make any outbound API requests. SaveMyGPT interacts only with ChatGPT tabs and the packaged assets that ship with the extension.

3. Limited Browser Permissions

The extension only requests the permissions required for its features:

• storage — store memories and preferences locally.
• activeTab & tabs — interact with the current ChatGPT tab when you save or paste content.
• scripting — inject the content script or paste text into the ChatGPT composer when requested.
• contextMenus — provide “Save with SaveMyGPT” options in the right-click menu.

4. Local Prompt Library

The Prompt Library packaged with SaveMyGPT lives in prompts.json and is loaded from the extension bundle. No prompts are downloaded from the internet, and any prompts you paste stay within your ChatGPT session.

5. Transparent Code

SaveMyGPT uses only standard Chrome APIs and inline scripts declared in the MV3 service worker, content script, popup, and options pages. There are no hidden trackers, analytics, or third-party libraries that transmit data.

6. Managing Your Data

You can clear all stored memories at any time by using the “Clear All” button in the popup or by clearing extension data via Chrome’s settings. Removing the extension also removes all stored data.
